Purpose:
We are seeking a highly talented cybersecurity engineer with a keen detective trait to assist in resolving challenges in addressing/enforcing security controls. This role offers invaluable experience in identifying, qualifying, and onboarding applications into the web application firewall solution. The best candidate practices self-initiative, motivation, and contextual logic reasoning.

Intern Opportunity and Scope: 

  • Assist day to day endpoint detection & response operations by fulfilling requests or troubleshooting submitted incidents to resolution across both PCs and servers.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for automation of SOC tasks and/or Health tasks, performing as the primary engineer and/or peer reviewer of automation jobs/playbooks prior to production enablement.
  • Primary Independent Work: Support reconciliation activities between XDR enrolled systems vs. Live systems on the network per source(s) of record.
    • Outputs: Thought Map, Process document, and objective, independent enforcement mechanisms.
    • Target: Enrolled Systems = Live Systems, including a risk matrix that justifies deviation from the target.

 Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Degree and/or Certification in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Takes initiative and can test/apply theoretical principles to solve complex problems.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and enterprise deployment methodologies, including transitions from on-prem to cloud data centers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing business requirements.
