Job Summary:
Position supporting the Corporate Workplace and Health Safety office in Xerox’s Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability organization. This corporate role establishes safety and health policies and provides technical safety and health oversight to Xerox’s manufacturing, research and service operations. Position collaborates with other professional Health and Safety colleagues within the organization and serves as the Workplace Health and Safety interface with operation safety professionals, Xerox’s risk management organization and management teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of Xerox’s US injury and illness recordkeeping for compliance to OSHA standards
  • Interface with consultants that perform services in data management and health assessments
  • Provides directions to Xerox’s volunteer Medical Emergency Response Teams that reside in various US operations
  • Oversees medical emergency response equipment and employee training of CPR, AED and bloodborne pathogens
  • Works with consulting Occupational Physician on unique employee workplace medical situations and medical surveillance activities
  • Management of employee occupational medical exams (audiometric testing, vision, hearing) with external providers
  • Works with Corporate Risk Management Team, when necessary, on coordination of return-to-work processes
  • Participates in corporate audits of Xerox operation’s Health and Safety compliance and injury prevention programs
  • Conducts Health and Safety inspections to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and prevailing professional standards and practices
  • Develops and implements Health and Safety policies and programs
  • Analyzes and Investigates Health and Safety incidents to ensure that action is taken to correct deficiencies or violations of established standards
  • Investigates employee complaints and suggestions regarding hazardous conditions
  • Evaluates new and existing jobs, new projects, and processes to determine existence and severity of hazards and recommends controls
  • Provide technical guidance to management on a large variety of workplace Health and Safety issues
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Health Sciences or equivalent
  • Master of Science (MS) degree in related field preferred
  • Certified or in pursuit of certification as a Safety Practitioner
  • Understanding of applicable regulatory standards and industry best practices
  • At least 5 years’ experience in health & safety and related field
  • Ability to interact effectively with all areas of the business and external organizations
  • Ability to apply the rules of risk assessment and develop mitigation plans
  • Good understanding of strategic priorities
  • Self-starter and strong work ethics
