2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician with experience in equipment and/or facilities maintenance within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of production and facility systems while supporting continuous improvement and operational reliability.

This position is based at a chemical manufacturing site, offering cross-training opportunities across both facility and process equipment as certifications are achieved.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electro-mechanical equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and production equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
  • Use diagnostic and testing equipment to identify and resolve issues
  • Support equipment modifications and installations with Engineering teams
  • Assist with upkeep and repair of facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Maintain accurate records within CMMS systems
  • Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO and PPE requirements

Electrical Qualifications

  • AAS in Electrical Maintenance, Industrial Electricity, or equivalent certification preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of industrial electrical experience
  • Experience working with systems up to 480V 3-phase electrical system
  • Ability to troubleshoot non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics


Mechanical Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of industrial or facility maintenance experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including conveyors and pneumatic equipment
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and calibrations
  • HVAC experience is a plus


Additional Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed


Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work in environments with dust, chemicals, and varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators
Capable of:
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing ladders (up to 40 ft) and stairs frequently
  • Lifting up to 35 lbs. (25 lbs. overhead)
  • Performing tasks requiring bending, crawling, and reaching
Qualified for:
  • Confined space entry
  • Hearing conservation program
  • Powered vehicle operation
