Role Summary
The Mechanical Tool Technician is responsible for supporting the Prototype Center in the fabrication, machining, and rapid prototyping of components used in the development of Lexmark and Xerox products. This role works closely with Mechanical Design Engineers and cross-functional teams to manufacture, modify, and inspect prototype parts while ensuring quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Functional / Technical Competencies
  • CNC Machining Operations 
  • Conventional Machining (Lathe, Milling, Drilling) 
  • CMM Operations 
  • CAD Software Utilization 
  • Rapid Prototyping Technologies 
  • Engineering Drawing Interpretation 
  • Fabrication and Tooling Processes

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan machining work procedures and machine setup.
  • Review engineering drawings and models.
  • Operate CNC and conventional machining equipment.
  • Perform rapid prototyping activities.
  • Conduct inspections and measurements.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and inventories.
  • Ensure laboratory safety and housekeeping standards.

Must Haves
  • Experience operating CNC machinery.
  • Experience with conventional machining equipment.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Experience with CMM and measurement tools.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software.
  • Completed vocational or technical program.

Nice to Haves
  • Familiarity with Mazak CNC machines.
  • Familiarity with Hurco CNC machines.
  • Experience using NX CAD software.
  • Exposure on SLA, Vacuum Casting, and 3D Printing technologies.

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
