Overview

Lexmark is expanding our Infrastructure Operations team and is seeking experienced Systems Administrators/Engineers to support our global data center and cloud infrastructure environments. This team is responsible for the daily operational support, maintenance, security, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

We are looking for a skilled professional with strong experience supporting both Windows and Linux server environments, along with expertise in VMware virtualization, cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure security. The ideal candidate thrives in complex enterprise environments, works effectively both independently and collaboratively, and possesses strong communication and problem-solving skills.

This role supports a global infrastructure footprint and requires close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders across multiple geographic regions.

What You'll Do

Server Administration

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows and Linux servers across physical, virtual, on-premises, and cloud environments
  • Deploy and manage VMware virtual machines, clusters, and resource pools
  • Monitor server health, performance, and availability across enterprise environments
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, and security hardening
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery processes
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, server, and operating system issues

Cloud & Virtualization Management

  • Deploy and support infrastructure in Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Configure and optimize cloud-based compute, storage, networking, and security services
  • Administer VMware vSphere and vCenter environments
  • Perform capacity planning and performance optimization for virtualized systems
  • Support hybrid infrastructure integrations between on-premises and cloud platforms

Automation & DevOps

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using:
    • Ansible
    • PowerShell
    • Bash scripting
  • Support DevOps initiatives and CI/CD pipeline development
  • Automate operational tasks and improve deployment efficiency

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain security best practices across Windows and Linux environments
  • Perform system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and access control management
  • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance activities
  • Support compliance requirements such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or similar frameworks

Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor infrastructure utilization, system performance, and operational health
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Analyze logs and proactively address issues before service disruption occurs
  • Recommend and implement improvements for infrastructure stability and scalability

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Share technical knowledge and assist with internal training initiatives
  • Collaborate with global teams, vendors, and stakeholders on operational and project activities
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences


Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of experience supporting enterprise Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience supporting infrastructure within a global organization

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with:
    • Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019)
    • Linux distributions such as CentOS, Ubuntu, and Red Hat
    • VMware vSphere and vCenter
    • Azure, AWS, and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Experience managing:
    • Active Directory
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Core networking services
  • Familiarity with:
    • Networking protocols
    • Firewalls
    • Security best practices
    • Hybrid cloud environments

Automation & DevOps

  • Proficiency in:
    • PowerShell
    • Bash scripting
    • Ansible
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines preferred

Professional Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment
